Peter Marcy letter, 1845 May 18.

Letter to brother Daniel Marcy, ship owner of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, reflects trade with France and ship repairs in New Orleans. He comments on damage sustained by the cargo ship, Orozimbo, in the Gulf of Lyons while enroute to New Orleans with a cargo of wine. He also states that staves sold for 33 to 37 dollars per thousand in New Orleans; other news relates to family matters.
